That's why JSCB "KAPITALBANK" from 04.09.2017 begins to provide its clients with 3D Secure service - the technology of safe payments in the Internet. 3D Secure is a modern technology developed by Visa (Verified by Visa) international payment system to provide safe payments by Bank cards in the Internet, which enables to identify the Cardholder performing the operation and to minimize the risk of fraud on the card. The increase of security when making online payments on websites supporting 3D Secure technology, occurs due to additional identification of the cardholder. Such identification is provided through the required entry of one-time password by the Cardholder, which during the operation is automatically sent by the Bank via SMS on a mobile telephone number of such holder.
Conditions for connection of 3D Secure – the service is provided automatically and free of charge to all clients who have connected SMS-informing service on the card.
ATTENTION!!! In case if the client has no connected SMS-informing service on the card, to connect to the 3D Secure service it is required to contact the branch of JSCB "Kapitalbank" in which the card was opened and to write the application to connect SMS-informing service on the card, then 3D Secure service shall be connected automatically.
Advantages of 3D Secure:
• guaranteed security – payments are confirmed by one-time password which is available only to the Cardholder and valid for a short period of time and for one transaction only;
• simplicity – it is not required to connect 3D Secure separately, as the technology becomes available automatically provided the active SMS-informing service on the card;
• convenience – there is no need to remember the password. The one-time password is sent every time during the operation.
The procedure for online payment of goods and services by the card with 3D Secure protection on the Internet site, which supports 3D Secure technology:
• Client goods or service on the site, it is necessary to verify the presence of Verified by Visa logos – this ensures the higher level of safety
• The client enters the card details on the website (similarly to the standard purchasing process)
• The online merchant connects the client with Bank – redirects to a separate secure page
• At the same time SMS message is sent to the client from the Bank with one-time password
• On this page the client specifies the password received in the message
• Automatically the reversed inversion is carried out to the merchant's site as well as the payment of purchase
• Payment occurs only after successful entry of the password
Receive and enter of a one-time password is the additional identification of the Cardholder and ensures the minimum risk of unauthorized Internet-based transactions.
Important! If the card is connected to 3D Secure, but the online merchant does not support 3D Secure, the operation is performed in a standard mode (without one time password).
