The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CEIR) has updated the Bank Activity Index. The rating is headed by JSCB Kapitalbank.
Among the 17 major banks, Kapitalbank still retains the leadership, holding it since the second quarter of 2020. High results in terms of capital adequacy, profitability and quality of management allowed the bank to firmly consolidate its position in the overall rating.
In particular, the volume of term bank deposits increased by 27.1% compared to the previous period and amounted to 5.8 trillion UZS. The ratio of term deposits to the total amount of loans reached 90%.
The share of deposits and loans from other banks and financial organizations in total liabilities is 4.2% and the share of funds received from the Ministry of Finance is 5.5%. These indicators show that Kapitalbank deals actively with the population and businesses.
To recap the Index was developed by CEIR for 31 commercial banks of the country and is updated quarterly. The calculation uses bank indicators in the following areas: financial intermediation, financial accessibility, capital adequacy, asset quality, management efficiency, profitability and liquidity.
